Summer Trip to the Sea (1978): Cast & Plot

Arkhangelsk, 1942 — as summer arrives on the bleak Arctic coast, a group of schoolchildren sets out for the shores of Novaya Zemlya to gather as many bird eggs as possible from the island’s bustling colonies, a routine task that will help stock emergency provisions for sailors and others fighting to survive in wartime conditions. The mission is carried out under the watch of the expedition’s team, including Viktor Proskurin, Anatoliy Gorin, Nikolai Skorobogatov, Igor Fokin, Alexander Kurennoy, and Andrey Zotov, who bring a mix of youth, curiosity, and grit to the task.
