Dr. Sushma Malhotra, Madhuri Dixit, is a compassionate doctor who tends to a patient who is both a thief and a killer but has lost his memory after a severe accident. To give him a chance at a new life, she renames him Krishna, Aditya Pancholi. Grateful for her care, the man develops deep affection for her and, swept up in their connection, they marry. As the two begin to build a fragile happiness, the shadow of his unknown past lingers, testing the boundaries of trust and devotion.
Inspector Ranjit Kapoor, Suresh Oberoi, arrives with a grave warning: Krishna may have attempted to kill Sushma before the accident and could try again. Sushma chooses to trust the man she married, even as the warning gnaws at her. The uneasy balance of love and danger hangs over their new life, and the couple tries to reconcile warmth with the risk that haunts their days.
In a pivotal moment, Krishna suffers a head injury while Sushma is nearby taking photographs. The blow unlocks a reservoir of buried memories, including the haunting memory of his beloved sister’s suicide in a failed marriage — a tragedy tethered to a false photo of the couple and a forged letter claiming she was pregnant with his child. The amnesia gives way to a new, angrier identity: Rajeev, Aditya Pancholi. He confronts Sushma, accusing her of murder and insisting that his past life was violently erased by her actions. The tension between memory and present reality intensifies as the investigation deepens.
The truth begins to surface when the investigators close in on the real culprit: Monty, a criminal mastermind connected to Rajeev’s sister’s death. Together, Rajeev and Inspector Kapoor close the net on Monty and his gang. Monty breaks under pressure and confesses to killing Rajeev’s sister in a bid to blackmail him, while Rajeev responds with lethal force, ensuring Monty’s end. Inspector Kapoor then takes down the remaining members of Monty’s gang, bringing the criminal plot to a hard, punitive close.
Even as the dust settles, Rajeev bears the weight of the harm caused in the past, and Sushma tends to his wounds with quiet resilience. The couple finds a fragile path forward, choosing to stay together. In the end, they reconcile the tangled threads of memory and love, affirming that he is not Rajeev in the narrow sense, but rather the man she has come to know as Krishna—the one who embodies forgiveness, devotion, and a second chance at happiness.
