Spoilers ahead
On Christmas Eve, 14-year-old Karl-Bertil Jonsson, Anton Lundqvist, works at the Swedish postal service and secretly idolizes Robin Hood. He makes a bold choice: to sort Christmas presents addressed to the rich into a separate bag and deliver them to many poor families, a quiet act of rebellion that tests his family’s values and his own sense of justice.
His mother, Mrs Jonsson, questions a porcelain plate meant for Tyko that had been delivered to another family, prompting Karl-Bertil to come clean. The confession brings his mother to tears, and his father Tyko Jonsson, Peter Dalle, responds with anger, branding him a communist and sending him to bed early.
