Art & Craft

Direction and technical execution receive mixed feedback, with several reviewers describing it as conventional and lacking impact. Production design is noted for its plush, rich settings that add atmosphere, while cinematography earns praise for striking visuals. However, editing and pacing are cited as sluggish, contributing to a languid overall feel. The artistic elements therefore sit in a modest middle ground.

Character & Emotion

Acting quality is uneven across the cast; Pauli Dam and Rahul Dev are highlighted for solid, sometimes standout performances, whereas other leads are regarded as average or merely adequate. Critics observe limited character depth, describing some roles as half‑baked and lacking nuance. Emotional resonance is constrained by the screenplay’s predictability. Consequently, character work delivers occasional strengths but fails to consistently engage.

Story & Flow

The narrative is widely seen as formulaic, recycling familiar murder‑mystery tropes without introducing fresh twists. Pacing is described as slow, especially in the opening segment, and the climax is deemed underwhelming despite occasional surprising turns. While a few reviewers acknowledge a competent script that holds attention, the overall consensus points to a predictable and unsatisfying story arc.

Sensory Experience

Visual style receives commendation for its lavish settings and striking composition, with some viewers noting stunning imagery that enhances the film’s mood. Sound design and soundtrack are mentioned only sparingly, leaving little impression of their quality. The overall sensory experience leans toward a positive perception of the film’s aesthetics, counterbalancing narrative shortcomings. Thus, sensory elements are a relative strength.

Rewatch Factor

Rewatch potential is limited, as many reviewers found the plot predictable and the suspense insufficient to motivate a second viewing. The film’s slow pacing and lack of novel revelations diminish its long‑term appeal. A minority appreciate the occasional twists, but this does not translate into broad replay value. Overall, the movie offers little incentive for repeat consumption.

On their engagement night, film writer Kartik Sharma, Anup Soni, confronts a chilling turn of events when his fiancée, famous actress Vaani Chopra Dippanita Sharma, is found murdered in her hotel room. Police officer Rajesh Ahlawat Rahul Dev arrives to take charge, and the initial findings quickly center on Kartik as the lone attendee missing, marking him as the prime suspect, while Rajesh keeps someone updated by phone on the case progress.

In a burst of panic, Kartik escapes and flagging down a passing car, tells the driver he’s trying to dodge the police to avoid making things worse. At the crime scene, investigators uncover a new lead: film producer Rehan Mustafa who had pressed Vaani earlier; CCTV shows a confrontation with Kartik over Vaani’s affections, and Rehan denies any involvement while revealing a past relationship with Vaani. The footage also shows Rehan approaching their room later that night, but the tape cuts off before what happens next.

As the car carrying Kartik nears a police checkpoint, he grows anxious and asks the driver to bypass it. The driver, Manohar, grows suspicious of Kartik’s behavior and suggests he seek help from the nearby king, Raja Sujan Singh. Kartik agrees and heads to the king’s residence, where he is stunned to discover his ex-girlfriend Vashuki [Paoli Dam] is now the king’s wife and queen. Vashuki warns that the king is away and asks him to wait. Kartik explains that he was intoxicated earlier, woke up with Vaani dead and a knife in his hand, and cannot recall what happened, leaving his memory hazy about whether he killed her.

The police later dismiss Rehan as a suspect after a waitress testifies that Vaani was seen alive after Rehan walked toward her and confirms his intention to apologize. Phone surveillance indicates that Kartik may be hiding in the king’s residence, prompting the investigators to head there while Rajesh shares untold stories about the case with a colleague. It’s revealed that a few days before the engagement, Vaani had an affair with Raja Sujan Singh, and the person Rajesh keeps updating about the investigation is the King himself.

At the king’s residence, Vashuki provides more context: she admits to having killed Vaani with the help of a waitress and to having planted the knife in Kartik’s hand. She also confesses to killing the King moments before Kartik’s arrival, claiming the knife as an Istanbul souvenir she showed him to plant his fingerprints. She explains that Kartik’s prints were part of her scheme to frame him. Just as the tension peaks, the police arrive as Kartik attempts to choke Vashuki, and she succeeds in painting him as the murderer of both Vaani and the King.
