One More Shot delivers a relentless, single‑take action experience that will satisfy viewers seeking nonstop combat, yet its narrative and character development are markedly thin. Critics and audiences alike note the innovative continuous‑shot technique and energetic fight choreography, but they also point to a meandering plot, under‑cooked antagonists, and uneven performances. The film’s technical ambition is offset by a lack of coherent storytelling, resulting in a mixed reception overall.
The Movie Echo Score Breakdown for One More Shot
Art & Craft
Regarding art and craft, the film’s single‑take cinematography is praised for its ambitious execution and fluid choreography, showcasing impressive coordination despite a modest budget. Nonetheless, several reviewers criticize the shaky camera work and low‑budget visual polish, describing portions as cheap‑looking. Consequently, the technical achievement is notable but uneven.
Character & Emotion
In terms of character and emotion, performances are a mixed bag. Scott Adkins’ commitment and the chemistry with Michael Jai White receive some approval, yet many critics label the acting as clunky and the antagonist as under‑developed. The lack of depth reduces emotional stakes, resulting in a generally weak character impression.
Story & Flow
Evaluating story and flow, reviewers consistently point to a thin, disjointed narrative. The plot relies heavily on continuous‑shot action, offering little exposition or coherent motivation, especially regarding the villain’s sudden reveal. Pacing is described as relentless yet directionless, leading to an anticlimactic conclusion that diminishes overall engagement.
Sensory Experience
The sensory experience is marked by high‑octane fight sequences and a pounding soundtrack that amplify adrenaline, which many viewers find enjoyable. Conversely, several critics note the film’s visual quality appears cheap, with excessive camera shake and inconsistent sound design that detract from immersion. Thus, the sensory impact is vigorous but inconsistently executed.
Rewatch Factor
Regarding rewatch factor, the film’s nonstop action and novelty of the single‑take approach provide a reason for repeat viewings among genre enthusiasts. However, the weak narrative, shallow characters, and uneven technical polish limit broader appeal, causing many viewers to skip subsequent watches. Overall, replay value remains modest and audience‑specific.

Navy SEAL Jake Harris is faced with a critical mission following a devastating attack on a covert black site in Poland. His assignment is to personally escort the terrorist suspect Amin Mansur to Washington, D.C., for an intense interrogation that could unveil vital information. However, as they are in transit, unexpected complications arise, forcing them to make an emergency landing at a civilian airport in Baltimore, which will later be referred to as “Washington/Baltimore Airport,” instead of the heavily fortified Andrews Air Force Base.
Chaos ensues when a group of highly trained and heavily armed mercenaries launches a brutal assault on the unprepared airport. As the situation spirals out of control, the mercenaries seize the airport, taking command of the gates and the closed-circuit cameras. Their objective is clear—they need to extract crucial information from Mansur, which prevents them from simply eliminating him. Amidst the turmoil, Mansur, his wife, and Jake manage to hide within the airport terminals. His wife, a doctor, uses her skills to provide medical assistance to the injured.
As the conflict escalates, suspicions arise around Mike Marshall, a character whose allegiance comes into question, especially since he was absent during the initial attack in Poland. On the other hand, Jennifer Lomax is revealed to be the true traitor when a video surfaces showing her speaking Arabic, ultimately confirming that she is the mole. To Mansur’s horror, he recognizes her voice as his handler, deepening the betrayal.
As the mercenaries capture Mansur, Jake struggles and collapses, losing consciousness in the fray. Meanwhile, the tension mounts as Lomax takes more drastic measures, shooting Marshall and sparking accusations that he was right to suspect her. Lomax devises a sinister plot: using the threat of radioactive materials as leverage, she plans to consolidate power by gathering the fingerprints and biometric data of all Department of Defense and NSA leaders during their vulnerable moments in the same location. This manipulation isn’t merely an act of terrorism but rather a calculated maneuver to seize control of the U.S. strategic defense apparatus.
In a chilling turn of events, Mansur is subjected to torture by Lomax as she demands the serial number for the radioactive material’s container. Awakening amidst the chaos, Jake takes on the guise of one of the mercenaries, eliminating several of them in an effort to regain control. He daringly kidnaps Mansur’s wife, delivering her to Lomax in an attempt to procure the information they need. Mansur, under duress, finds himself forced to recite a speech in which he publicly threatens retaliation against America for its actions against Arab nations. Tragically, the situation culminates in Mansur’s death in his wife’s arms after he is shot by Lomax.
Having finally freed Mansur’s wife and disarmed the remaining mercenaries, Jake reaches out to Mulholland via phone, informing him of Lomax’s treachery. The tale concludes as soldiers arrive to apprehend Lomax, bringing a brief moment of order to the chaos. A web of betrayal, survival, and strategic maneuvering intertwines to create a gripping narrative that highlights the intricate dance between duty and deception.
