As the Soviet-Afghan War concludes in 1988-1989, the USSR initiates its withdrawal. However, the long-awaited return of the 108th motorized infantry division is jeopardized when Soviet General Vasiliev’s son, a pilot named Alexander, is kidnapped following a plane crash. A final, urgent mission is launched to rescue Alexander, delaying the division’s return home. Based on true events, this untold story explores the dangers, horrors, and complex human nature experienced during the withdrawal campaign through the Salang pass.
