John Wick, portrayed by Keanu Reeves, is a man plunged into despair following the passing of his beloved wife, Helen, played by Bridget Moynahan, due to an undisclosed illness. In a touching gesture from beyond the grave, Helen arranges for John to receive a puppy named Daisy, a companion meant to help him cope with her loss. Initially indifferent to the little creature, John gradually bonds with Daisy as they take a nostalgic drive in his classic 1969 Mustang.

The following day, Iosef, seeking to modify the stolen vehicle, visits Aurelio, a shop owner portrayed by John Leguizamo, who refuses to do business with him upon realizing the car’s true owner and the heinous act committed by Iosef. In a moment of clarity, Aurelio warns John about the implications of Iosef’s actions, explaining that Iosef is the son of Viggo Tarasov, played by Michael Nyqvist, the formidable head of the Russian crime syndicate in New York and John’s former employer.

After a harrowing confrontation with Viggo, who is desperate to protect his son, John embarks on a relentless path of vengeance, prompting Viggo to put a hefty $2 million bounty on his head. This brutal challenge catches the attention of Marcus, a veteran assassin and mentor to John, played by Willem Dafoe, who takes on the contract. John finds refuge at the Continental, a sanctuary for assassins where business is strictly prohibited, but the hunt escalates as Viggo’s desperation grows.

With the help of Winston, the owner of the Continental, portrayed by Ian McShane, John uncovers Iosef’s whereabouts, leading to fierce confrontations at various venues, including the nightclub Red Circle. Despite a brutal clash where John is momentarily subdued, he rallies back—only to be betrayed by Ms. Perkins, played by Adrianne Palicki, a former ally who has taken the contract to kill him.

In a gripping showdown, John fights for survival, seeks retribution by burning Viggo’s illicit cash, and exacts a toll on those who have wronged him, including vicious displays of skill against Viggo’s henchmen. With every passing moment, John’s battle intensifies, leading him to confront Viggo himself in a final, brutal fight back at the docks.

After ensuring his adversary feels the full weight of his vengeance—with wounds inflicted that mirror his own suffering—John is left battered yet unbroken. In the aftermath of a brutal battle, he stops at an animal shelter, rescuing a pit bull puppy from a cage, echoing the love that once was. He walks away into the distance, symbolically reclaiming a glimmer of hope as he paves the way toward a new beginning.
