Gangaram Verma Kader Khan is a man of ideals and a government servant who hates bribes. He lives in his ancestral house with his wife and their son, Vijay Shakti Kapoor, a man whose hunger for wealth often puts him at odds with his father’s ethics. Vijay marries Sapna Shoma Anand, a wealthy young woman, and becomes ghar jamai, moving into Sapna’s family life. Sapna’s father-in-law, a builder, has his eye on Gangaram’s ancestral property, and he, along with Vijay and Sapna, begins to push Gangaram out of his own home.
