Raoul is on the cusp of becoming the light‑heavyweight boxing champion, but a reckless wager—punching a door with his bare fist—leaves his hand broken and his career in ruin. He takes a job at a traveling fair, where he first encounters the charismatic performer Hurricane Rosy. Later he discovers she is the star of Mike Fernando’s women’s wrestling show. They fall passionately in love, yet their relationship is tested by Rosy’s rising fame and Raoul’s increasingly violent jealousy.

Raoul Lamarre, Gérard Depardieu, a young boxer nicknamed Spaccadoore, is forced to interrupt a brilliant career due to a broken hand caused by a trivial bet. He is thus reduced to working in a booth where some female wrestling champions perform. Here he is fascinated by an immensely beautiful girl, unbeatable in strength exercises. This girl is Rosy, Faith Minton. She wins a goldfish and leaves, followed by Raoul.
