During the autumn holidays, [Kanae Itou] as Ohana Matsumae is entrusted with guiding [Haruka Tomatsu] as Yuina Wakura, who arrives at Kissuiso to train as an inn waitress. While tidying a storage room, Ohana discovers old logbooks from the time when her mother, [Takako Honda] as Satsuki Matsumae, was working at the inn. Those pages reveal a past where Satsuki is rebellious against her mother, [Tamie Kubota] as Sui Shijima, and longs to move to Tokyo. She meets a cameraman who shows her how radiant she looks from his perspective, and this encounter helps her pursue a future as an editor and to follow the man, who would later become Ohana’s father, to Tokyo with Sui’s approval.
In the present, Ohana feels she has a lot more in common with her mother than she previously thought, realizing how the past shapes their bond.
Meanwhile, the inn experiences a day without power, and [Aki Toyosaki] as Nako Oshimizu learns that her younger sister Mana has run away from home. Nako and Ohana search for Mana, and during the search Nako’s frustration with her mother for not being there for the family echoes the dynamics described in the logbooks. They eventually find Mana and return to the inn, where Ohana uncovers a small clue about her mother in the old records.
Throughout these events, Satsuki recalls the day she visited Kissuiso with the newborn Ohana, a memory that reinforces her determination to not lose to Sui in dedication.
