Police inspector Prabha Narayan, Bipasha Basu, is a woman shaped by a difficult past. She grew up as the illegitimate daughter of a prostitute, endured a harsh childhood, and there is a lingering memory of a moment when she was driven to murder. In the present, she remains a steadfast officer who believes she can atone by reforming a criminal, turning her personal history into a quiet source of resolve.

Her life takes a dramatic turn with the arrival of Aditya S. Kashyap, Dino Morea: a good-hearted man who was steered into crime by a broken system. The film lays bare the injustices that helped push him there, including a horrifying incident where his father is humiliated in a police station.
