Veerapandi Puram and Soolakkarai are two villages divided by a river, their history stained by a long-standing feud between the local headmen. The conflict stems from a tragic misunderstanding surrounding Sethupathy’s children, which fuels his vendetta against Veerasamy. In a bid to erase this debt of blood, Sethupathy attempts to kill Veerasamy’s son, Suriyaprakash [Prakash Raj], but the plan is foiled when Paramasivam’s son Giri [Arjun Sarja] intervenes, saving the boy and causing Suriyaprakash to vanish from sight.

Two decades pass, and a new chapter begins when Shiva arrives in Kumbakonam with a quiet, focused mission: to shield DSP Chandrashekhar’s wife and his son from Sethupathy and his gangsters. He moves in with a bakery owner named Veerabhaagu [Vadivelu], forming an uneasy alliance with the town’s fragile peace and the lingering memories of the old feud. The tension escalates at a wedding reception, where Shiva steps in to protect Chandrashekhar’s family from an attempted murder carried out by Sethupathy’s son, a moment that showcases his resolve and the delicate balance between past resentments and present danger.

As the pieces fall into place, Ramalingam reveals a staggering truth: Shiva is actually Giri, and Chandrashekhar is in fact Suriyaprakash (Suriya)—the same man Sethupathy believed he had killed when learning the truth about Suriyaprakash’s identity. This revelation reframes the years of separation and danger, explaining why Giri was sent to bring the family back to the village and why the stakes felt so personal to everyone involved.

In the climactic present, Giri takes decisive action to protect what remains of the family, targeting Sethupathy and his kin in a decisive confrontation during a boat race. The battle is brutal and swift, and Giri’s actions ensure that Sethupathy and his household are removed from the cycle of vengeance, bringing a hard-won sense of justice for Suriyaprakash’s death.

Throughout, the tale moves between the quiet, everyday life of a village with a boundary as unreliable as the river that separates them, and the high-stakes schemes of men whose motives are tangled in loyalty, memory, and a thirst for retribution. The narrative weaves together themes of identity, protection, and the cost of past animosities, culminating in a finale that redefines the fates of those caught between two feuding worlds.
