What Is From the Clouds to the Resistance About?
The premise of From the Clouds to the Resistance without spoilers.
Based on two works by Cesare Pavese, the 1978 film is split into a twentieth‑century segment reflecting on the violent deaths of Italian anti‑Fascist resistance fighters, and a mythic segment drawing dialogues between heroes and gods from antiquity. By juxtaposing political engagement with contemplations of myth, nature and language, it evokes figures such as Empedocles and Antigone, linking history and legend.
