What Is Disobedience About?
The premise of Disobedience without spoilers.
At fourteen, Luca Manzi lives in the Fascist‑ruled Republic of Salò in northern Italy. He joins the partisan resistance, but when the war ends he finds the promised changes absent, leaving him despondent and willing to give up his life. Edith rescues him, offering a troubled intimacy that pulls him back from death. The film adapts Alberto Moravia’s novel.
