Faust: Love of the Damned 2000

John Jaspers, an amnesiac bound to ominous metal gauntlets with claw-like blades, unleashes a string of killings before he’s finally restrained by Lt. Dan Margolies. In a tense moment, John nearly turns on Margolies, but the danger sharpens when a shadowy figure named Claire appears and vanishes, leaving the two men shaken. Margolies escorts John to a psychiatric hospital, where a calm, methodical approach is attempted through musical therapy. There, the hospital’s doctor, Jade De Camp, notices John fixating on a death metal CD. She plays the track, and the sudden sonic jolt triggers a furious psychic release that unlocks John’s buried memories, laying bare the price he paid for his power.

As the truth surfaces, John learns a chilling backstory: he had sold his soul to a mysterious man named M in exchange for vengeance on the gangsters who killed his girlfriend Blue. The contract granted him the gauntlets and supernatural abilities, enabling him to kill the criminals—but it also bound him to M as a slave, making it impossible to break the agreement. While John grapples with this revelation, Margolies digs into the secret society known as The Hand, the unseen network connected to M. The investigation intensifies when M’s henchmen abduct John, drug him, and dump him into an empty grave. Buried, John confronts a nightmarish Hell beneath the earth, fighting skeletal forces until he forces a way back to the world above.

When John reappears, he, now transformed into Faust, arrives just in time to save Jade De Camp from a brutal attack at M’s mansion. He slaughters the assailants and rescues her, but the danger isn’t over. A survivor returns to M’s lair to warn him, only to be manipulated and killed by Claire, who is revealed to be M’s wife. Jade eventually returns home after a talk with Margolies, but John reenters her life, determined to shield her from M’s schemes. When the police chief cracks down on Jade, the chief’s sudden loyalty to M draws him into a deadly clash, and Margolies, who secretly aligns with The Hand, lures Jade into M’s mansion to bait John into a final confrontation.

The ritual is set in place. M intends to harness Jade’s presence to draw John into a demonic rite, but the plan unravels when Claire poisons him, and M is killed by Jade in a frantic struggle. A violent confrontation erupts as Jade is tortured, and the ritual spirals toward catastrophe. A gate to Hell opens, and M summons a demon that torches his followers. Jade frees John from the collapsing plan, and he battles the demon as Faust.

The fight leaves John battered, and the pair face a desperate choice. M’s hold over John remains until Jade offers a deeply personal bargain—her own firstborn child in exchange for John’s freedom from the contract and the return of his soul. M accepts, burning the contract, but the price is steep: John loses his powers, and his old injuries begin to return. In a final, heartbreaking twist, Jade confesses a childhood trauma—her inability to conceive—after John is mortally wounded by his foe. M is slain, Claire and Margolies perish, and the gate to Hell closes as John dies in Jade’s arms. Jade mourns the loss of the man who loved her, and the world they fought to protect is left to face the quiet aftermath of the storm.
