In a gray suburb of London, this darkly comic drama threads together murder, sexuality, and power as it follows a young, amoral drifter with a shadowy past. Kath Beryl Reid is a lonely middle-aged woman living with her aging father, Kemp Alan Webb, known to the neighborhood as DaDa. When she encounters Mr. Sloane Peter McEnery sunbathing and exercising on a grave in the cemetery near her home, she invites him to become a lodger, and soon she seduces him.

Her brother, Ed Harry Andrews, who is closeted, makes Sloane the chauffeur of his pink 1959 Pontiac Parisienne convertible, complete with a tight leather uniform. Kemp recognizes Sloane as the man who killed his boss years before and lashes out, stabbing him in the leg with a gardening tool.

Sloane revels in playing the two siblings against each other and in tormenting the elderly Kemp. He inflames Kath’s desire and the jealousy of Ed, eventually getting Kath pregnant and drawing Ed’s warning to stay away from her. When Sloane murders Kemp to protect his own secret, the siblings blackmail him, threatening to expose him to the police unless he agrees to a dangerous ménage à trois. In this arrangement, Sloane becomes not only a sexual partner but also a prisoner of the pair’s coercive dynamic.

As the trio’s twisted bargain unfolds, the story probes how power, attraction, and secrecy can fuse into a dangerous and unsteady alliance. The film balances sharp wit with unapologetic discomfort as it examines taboo appetites and the shifting loyalties of two siblings and their ruthless guest.
