Enemy Echo Score Breakdown
Enemy presents a mixed viewing experience, balancing an engaging premise with uneven execution. The film’s concept and action sequences receive commendation, while excessive romance and dragging scenes undermine pacing. Performances by the leads are widely praised, yet the climax and certain narrative choices feel unresolved. Consequently, the movie offers limited rewatch appeal, positioning it as a one‑time watch for genre enthusiasts.
Our own 0–100 rating, built from five aspects: art, character, story, the sensory experience and how well a film rewatches.
- Art & Craft 58
From an ART perspective, the film showcases competent cinematography and crisp editing, particularly in its action set‑pieces and climax sequence. However, the direction suffers from unnecessary scenes and a sluggish second half that disrupts rhythm. The visual style is occasionally striking but is diluted by uneven pacing and a lack of cohesive tonal control.
- Character & Emotion 70
Regarding CHARACTER, the lead actors deliver strong, nuanced performances that anchor the narrative, with Vishal’s and Arya’s portrayals receiving particular acclaim. Supporting roles vary, as the heroine’s part is often seen as miscast and the romantic subplot feels forced, limiting emotional depth. Overall, the cast contributes positively despite occasional inconsistencies.
- Story & Flow 55
In terms of STORY, the premise of childhood rivalry and mind‑game intrigue offers originality, and the early sections engage viewers effectively. Nevertheless, pacing falters in the latter half, with forced romance and several plot holes weakening coherence. The climax attempts resolution but feels rushed, leaving the overall narrative only moderately satisfying.
- Sensory Experience 70
The SENSORY elements receive notable praise, especially the background score by Sam CS and Thaman, which enhances tension and complements action beats. Cinematography is generally well‑executed, providing clear visual storytelling. Conversely, several song sequences are deemed superfluous, and occasional sound design lapses contribute to an uneven auditory experience.
- Rewatch Factor 50
Assessing REWATCH value, the film’s strong performances and occasional technical flair make it tolerable for a single viewing, particularly among fans of the leads. However, the persistent pacing issues, unnecessary romantic interludes, and unsatisfying conclusion diminish its appeal for multiple viewings, rendering it largely a one‑time watch.

Spoilers ahead
1996, in Ooty: In the hills, 13-year-old Chozhan Ramalingam and Rajiv Parirajan are childhood friends whose fathers train them with the dream of joining the police force. Although they receive the same instruction, Chozhan’s natural skill quickly outpaces Rajiv’s, feeding a growing jealousy in the younger boy. During a quiet chess game, Rajiv wins, and as he walks away, Chozhan is left to ponder the moment — only to discover that Paarirajan, Rajiv’s father, lies dead on the floor. The police escort the boys to the station, and Chozhan tells the inspector and Ramalingam — his risk-averse father — that he believes he can catch the killer with his keen instincts.
