Nora, Marsha Hunt, a dresser at Carnegie Hall, keeps a close ear on the orchestra during rehearsals with the Symphony Society of New York led by Walter Damrosch as they work through Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. When substitute pianist Tony Salerno William Prince begins to bend the tempo and alter accents to fit his own interpretation, a tense exchange erupts and he walks off the stage. Nora pleads for him to apologize to Damrosch, who had once welcomed her to a Carnegie Hall performance when she was a child.
