Rambabu is a short-tempered mechanic with a big heart who steps into the world of journalism after Ganga, a camerawoman from NC Channel, offers him a chance to report on social issues. The lure of fair coverage and a chance to voice the ordinary citizen’s concerns pulls him into a high-stakes media landscape where truth and politics collide.
Ex-CM Jawahar Naidu aims to topple the incumbent government led by Chandrasekhara Reddy, backed by his ambitious son, Ranababu. Dasaradh Ram, a respected journalist, brings damning proof of Jawahar Naidu’s scams to NC Channel, but his discovery is brutally cut short when Ranababu orders him killed. Rambabu rises to challenge the tide of fear, and his fierce stand lands him in trouble—getting Ranababu arrested before the political foe manages to muscle him out of the case with old alliances and new media campaigns.
What follows is a harsh media war. Ranababu launches a populist movement that targets non-Telugu people in Andhra Pradesh, a strategy meant to rally votes and crush Rambabu’s influence. The conflict leaves Rambabu badly injured, but he is rescued by the tenacious Smitha, who works for a rival news channel. After his recovery, Rambabu joins Smitha’s outfit and turns the tables by baiting Ranababu with a televised trap: a controversial statement made on air that undermines Ranababu’s momentum and credibility.
In a bid to swing public sympathy, Ranababu has Jawahar Naidu deliver one final, dramatic speech and snares him in a fatal move—killing him. The act is secretly captured by Ranababu’s driver and later shown to Rambabu and [Smitha], fueling the clash between truth-tellers and power-makers. The plot thickens as Smitha makes a decisive bid to broadcast the damning video, only to be murdered by Ranababu just as the footage is about to go live.
Rambabu, once again during his recovery, delivers a resounding appeal to the youth of Andhra Pradesh, a speech that resonates across the state and mobilizes a large, idealistic crowd. The next day, Rambabu, leading a massive gathering, heads toward the building where Ranababu is hosting a private party, directing the Commissioner to ensure the guests leave to avoid a deadly confrontation. In the tense moments that follow, Smitha’s order to telecast the video triggers a blood-chilling turn: Ranababu shoots Rambabu, but the would-be power-broker is himself crushed in a stampede. The drama ends with Rambabu being wheeled toward an ambulance, [Ganga] by his side, as the state watches the hopeful, hard-fought fight unfold.
Note: Scarlett Mellish Wilson appears in a special appearance in the film’s “Joramochindhi” song.
