Liger received an overwhelming negative consensus, with critics and audiences alike denouncing its narrative and execution. The film suffers from a disjointed story, weak performances, and a lack of inventive direction, resulting in a viewing experience that feels stale and uninspired. While a few viewers noted competent cinematography, this isolated strength does not offset the pervasive flaws across the production. Consequently, the movie offers little incentive for repeat viewings, positioning it as a markedly low‑scoring entry in the marketplace.

After the passing of his father, Lion Balram Agarwal, during the MMA National Championship, Sashwath Agarwal, known as Liger (a nod to both Lion and Tiger), along with his mother, Balamani Agarwal, relocates to Mumbai from Karimnagar. Balamani is fiercely determined to mold Liger into a champion in Mixed Martial Arts and seeks out Christopher, a skilled coach who begins training him. As Liger strives for excellence in the sport, he encounters Tanya Panday, a wealthy young woman, and quickly falls for her. However, when Tanya learns about Liger’s stammer from her brother Sanju Panday, she feels embarrassed, leading her to abruptly end their relationship.

Motivated by this heartbreak, Liger seizes the opportunity to channel his pain into his training, ultimately winning the national championship. He subsequently earns a spot in the International Championship, with sponsorship from Tanya’s father. Liger showcases remarkable skills, triumphing in each match and advancing to the finals. However, just days before the much-anticipated final, Tanya is kidnapped. When Liger discovers this shocking news, he confronts Tanya’s father, only to learn that he had borrowed money from a gangster and is now trapped, unable to repay the debt.

In a twist of fate, Liger finds out that Tanya broke up with him to allow him to focus on his MMA career, as encouraged by his mother. This revelation propels Liger into action as he resolves to rescue Tanya himself, even if it means missing the final match. As he tracks down the kidnapper, he discovers it is actually Mark Anderson, his lifelong hero and a legendary MMA fighter.

In a high-stakes showdown streamed live during the MMA finals, Anderson challenges Liger to a fight for Tanya’s release. As the battle intensifies and Liger finds himself on the brink of defeat, he recalls his mother’s wise words, spurring him to defeat Anderson. Impressed with Liger’s tenacity and skill, Anderson agrees to take a picture with both Liger and Tanya before allowing them to go free. In a dramatic conclusion, the MMA jury recognizes the bout between Anderson and Liger as the final match, leading to Liger’s crowning as the MMA World Champion.
