As David (formerly a child actor with grand ambitions) stands on the precipice of a new chapter in his life, he finds himself grappling with the bitter taste of rejection. Just days prior to his nuptials with Frankie, she vanishes into thin air, leaving him reeling from the blow. In an attempt to lift his spirits and provide a much-needed distraction, his stalwart friend Flula proposes a most unconventional remedy: embark on the seven-day hike through Oregon's majestic mountains that David had initially planned as his honeymoon excursion with Frankie. Initially hesitant, David eventually succumbs to the idea, and he and Flula set off on an adventure that would test their mettle, fortify their bond of friendship, and provide a backdrop for introspection.

As they traverse the rugged terrain, David finds solace in immersing himself in the writings of William Clark, whose diary chronicles not only the iconic Lewis and Clark expedition but also his profound camaraderie with Meriwether Lewis. As David reads through the pages, he begins to notice eerie parallels between his own journey – both literal and metaphorical – and that of the legendary explorers. The serendipity of their experiences unfolds like a tapestry woven by the very same hands that guided Lewis and Clark across the Northwest wilderness. With each step, the duo encounters an eclectic cast of characters, and David's introspection yields profound insights into his own life, love, and loss.
