Laxmikant Kabadiya is one of India’s richest industrialists, a self-made man who climbed from selling scrap to building a vast construction empire. His company is on the brink of launching a monumental 5000 crore IPO, a move that could crown them among the nation’s biggest players. The family dynamic is a blend of money, ambition, and old-world ties: Prerna Kabadiya, LK’s spinster sister Prerna ‘Bua’ Kabadiya, along with LK’s two sons, Ranjeet and Sameer; their wives, Shruti and Anju respectively, and Ranjeet’s daughters Sanjana and Namrata, plus Sameer’s young son Pawan. The lure of wealth makes everyone look at the IPO as a once-in-a-lifetime chance, a moment that could redefine their lives.
But fate has a cruel sense of humor. On the night before the IPO goes live, LK dies while in a sexual encounter with a starlet named Kim, who dreams of becoming a film heroine that LK plans to back. The shock is not so much the loss of a patriarch, but the fear that the stock market will lose confidence and the shares will tank. Guided by their family guru, Vidyut ‘Vidya’ Baba, the family hatches a drastic plan: to hide LK’s death for two days until the shares are sold.
What follows is a collapsing house of cards. Each time the family thinks they’re ready to reveal the truth, a new twist of fate compels them to extend the cover for another day or two. The countdown becomes a cascade of deception, forcing them to improvise increasingly elaborate excuses and schemes. To keep the ruse alive, they end up fabricating the death of a fictitious friend or relative of LK and staging funerals to match the story. The mess grows stickier as the family grapples with the impossible task of presenting LK as a living corpse at these mock ceremonies, all while pretending the man is not dead in their own lives.
As the deception spirals, the line between truth and fabrication blurs, revealing the shallow foundations of a family chasing wealth at any cost. The farce tests loyalties, reveals hidden tensions, and traps everyone in a web of lies that threatens to unravel just as the IPO finally hangs in the balance. The movie threads together dark comedy with a sharp social edge, inviting viewers to watch a glittering dynasty tremble under the weight of its own avarice and the absurdity of trying to cheat destiny.
The story unfolds with a satirical eye on wealth, status, and family dynamics, all while balancing rapid shifts in mood—from brittle tension to chaotic humor. It keeps a tight focus on the consequences of deception and the high price of a dream built on a foundation of lies. In the end, the farcical predicament serves as a mirror to how quickly ambition can corrode integrity, and how, when push comes to shove, the truth has a stubborn way of surfacing—even in the most elaborate of pretenses.
