After World War II, a massive cache of Nazi gold disappears. General George S. Patton, who survived a 1945 car crash, begins probing the theft. His investigation draws the anger of defeated Nazis, the suspicion of Soviet agents, and the jealousy of a flamboyantly gay colonel and his lover, all fearing what Patton may uncover.
