Following the death of his wife, author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle retreated into grief, even distancing himself from his famed Sherlock Holmes stories. He is drawn back into action when his secretary presents him with a compelling case: the imprisonment of George Edalji, a solicitor wrongly convicted of malicious damage and sending obscene letters. Investigating the situation in Great Wyrley, Staffordshire, Doyle becomes increasingly conflicted about Edalji’s guilt. As he delves deeper into the twists and turns of the case, he seeks to uncover the true culprit, aiming to restore Edalji’s name and ultimately contributing to judicial reform.
