Alexander’s Ragtime Band 1938
Classical violinist Roger Grant shocks his family and mentor by forming a jazz band that finds success. He falls for vocalist Stella, but his fear of losing her makes him sabotage her solo ambitions. World War I separates them in 1917; Stella marries Roger’s best friend. After the war, a Carnegie Hall concert forces the romance to confront its future.
