But the peace is shattered when socialite Paula Thornwall June Blair is found murdered at her luxurious estate. Given the case’s glare from the press and public, Callahan decides to handle the prosecution himself, a choice that doubles as a chance to advance his political ambitions for higher office. The victim’s estranged husband, Walter Thornwall Rhodes Reason, becomes Callahan’s prime suspect, launching a high-stakes legal battle.
