In 1968 Australia, a music promoter discovers four talented Aboriginal women with extraordinary vocal abilities. He believes in their potential and arranges for them to travel to Vietnam as The Sapphires. During the Vietnam War, the group performs for American troops, using their soulful harmonies to provide a sense of joy and comfort amidst the conflict, while also experiencing cultural and political complexities.
