Trine Dyrholm

Trine Dyrholm (born 15 April 1972 in Odense, Denmark) is a celebrated Danish actress, singer, and songwriter whose career spans over four decades. She first entered the public eye at the age of fourteen when her band Trine & The Moonlighters placed third in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix with the catchy tune “Danse i måneskin,” earning her national recognition as a youthful pop sensation. Rather than resting on early musical success, Dyrholm pursued formal training at the Statens Teaterskole from 1991 to 1995, graduating with a solid foundation that propelled her onto the theatrical stage and eventually the silver screen. Her film debut came in 1990 with the teenage romance Springflod, a performance that secured her the Bodil Award for Best Actress the following year and announced her as one of Denmark’s most promising talents. Over the next two decades she amassed an impressive collection of honors, including five Bodil Awards for Best Actress, two Bodil Awards for Best Supporting Actress, and six Robert Awards, reflecting her versatility in roles ranging from the harrowing hotel maid in Festen (1998) to the complex lead in Fluerne på væggen (2005). Beyond acting, Dyrholm has maintained a prolific music career; her EP Mr. Nice Guy dominated Danish charts for over a hundred weeks, and she continues to blend performance and song in television projects such as Arvingerne, where she portrays the determined Gro Grønnegaard. In 2014 she served on the jury of the 64th Berlin International Film Festival, underscoring her influence within the broader European cinematic community. Personally, she has been in a long‑term partnership with actor and choreographer Niclas Bendixen since 2008, and the couple share a son.
