The film opens with a playful, meta storytelling frame: the Brothers Grimm are invited to meet a formidable Grande Dame who expresses disappointment with their version of Cinderella. She lays out a twist on the familiar tale by presenting a portrait and a glass slipper as concrete evidence of a story that blends myth with historical truth, inviting the audience to see the legend through a different lens.
