Timothy James Bottoms (born August 30, 1951) is a renowned American actor and film producer. He catapulted into prominence after playing the lead role in several notable movies. Some of his most recognized works include 'Johnny Got His Gun' (1971); 'The Last Picture Show' (1971), where he, along with co-stars Cybill Shepherd and Jeff Bridges rose to fame; 'The Paper Chase' (1973), and the disaster film 'Rollercoaster' (1977). In his career, he also remarkably portrayed President George W. Bush in multiple movies and sitcoms. Bottoms was born in Santa Barbara, California and a graduate of Santa Barbara High School in 1970, where he nurtured his acting and singing skills during various theater productions. Before his debut in the film industry in 1971, he performed in Dalton Trumbo's 'Johnny Got His Gun' and marked his significant presence with his brother Sam in 'The Last Picture Show'. Bottoms is also famous for his impersonation ability of President George W. Bush in several productions. Through an acting career that spans five decades, he seamlessly ventured into both tragic and comic roles. In 2023, he added another feather in his cap by releasing a novel 'The Pier', published by Tall Tales Press.
