Paul Stephen Rudd, born on April 6, 1969, is an acclaimed American actor. His journey into acting began after studying theater at the University of Kansas and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In 1991, he took his first steps into the profession. Since then, he has become a household name, earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame by July 2015, and earning a place on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list in 2019. Most recently, in 2021, People magazine crowned him the "Sexiest Man Alive". Over his illustrious career, Rudd has starred in numerous popular films, including but not limited to 'Clueless', 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy', 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin', 'I Love You, Man' and 'This Is 40'. In addition, he is known for his role as the superhero Scott Lang / Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with his most recent appearances in 'Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania' and 'Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire'. Notably, his television appearances have also garnered attention, having had guest roles on 'Friends', 'Tim and Eric Awesome Show', 'Reno 911!', and 'Parks and Recreation', to name a few. Moreover, he received an Emmy Award nomination for his starring role in the Hulu series 'Only Murders in the Building'.
Rudd attended the University of Kansas, where he majored in theater and belonged to the Sigma Nu fraternity's Nu Chapter. He studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts with fellow actor Matthew Lillard. His on-screen debut occurred in 1991, starting in a Super Nintendo commercial. He had a breakthrough in 1995 with his appearance in the comedy film 'Clueless'. Some of his other notable roles include FBI Agent Ian Curtis in Benny Chan's 2000 Hong Kong action film 'Gen-Y Cops' and as Mike Hannigan on the sitcom 'Friends'. He has also showcased his talent through recurring collaborations with director/producer Judd Apatow on films like 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy' and 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin'. He reprised his role as Scott Lang/Ant-Man in 'Captain America: Civil War', 'Ant-Man and Wasp', and 'Avengers: Endgame', one of the highest-grossing films of all time. Off-camera, Rudd has voiced audiobook recordings and provided voiceovers for Hyundai television commercials.
