Jessica Randolph Harper, born on October 3, 1949, is a renowned American actress and singer. She rose to fame with a leading role in Brian De Palma's 'Phantom of the Paradise' (1974), earning a pivotal place in the entertainment industry. Her performances were recognized in classics such as 'Love and Death' (1975), 'Inserts' (1975), 'My Favorite Year' (1982), and most notably in 'Suspiria' (1977) by Dario Argento, in which she played the leading character, Suzy Bannion. In 2018, she reappeared in Luca Guadagnino's remake of 'Suspiria' in a supporting role.

Not only limited to acting, Harper successfully explored other creative realms, securing her spot as an award-winning author of children's music and books. Apart from her acting career, Jessica Harper starred in other films, including 'Stardust Memories'(1980), 'Shock Treatment'(1981), 'Pennies from Heaven'(1981), 'The Blue Iguana'(1988), 'Safe'(1995), 'Minority Report'(2002), 'Bones and All' (2022), and 'Nightbitch'(2024). What's more, Harper ventured into literature and music, having written eleven books for children and created seven albums of songs for children. She also gained recognition as 'Parent of the Month' by Parenting Magazine in 2004. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Harper proved her culinary skills by releasing her cookbook 'The Crabby Cook Cookbook: Recipes and Rants' in 2010.
