Born and raised in New York City, Dale is the only child of actress and singer Anita Morris and actor and dancer Grover Dale. His acting journey began at a tender age of 10 when he auditioned for the role of Simon in the 1990 film Lord of the Flies. His aptitude was evident early on, landing this role which eventually laid the path ahead for a thriving acting career. Dale's remarkable work includes roles as Chase Edmunds in '24', Robert Leckie in 'The Pacific', Trooper Barrigan in 'The Departed', and Eric Savin in 'Iron Man 3'.

Notable among these are his performances in the CSI franchise, as well as his lead role in AMC's political thriller 'Rubicon'. In the HBO miniseries 'The Pacific', produced by acclaimed artists Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, Dale plays the pivotal persona of Robert Leckie.
