Don Wayne Johnson, an American actor born on December 15, 1949, is best known for his role as James "Sonny" Crockett in the 1980s television series Miami Vice. This role earned him a Golden Globe and a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award. In addition to Miami Vice, Johnson played the lead character in the 1990s series Nash Bridges and was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1996. Johnson's filmography includes works like A Boy and His Dog (1975), Tin Cup (1996), Machete (2010), Django Unchained (2012), and Knives Out (2019). In his parallel career as a singer, he released the albums Heartbeat (1986) and Let It Roll (1989), with his cover of "Heartbeat" reaching number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other notable roles include a starring role in the HBO series Watchmen, and Doctor Odyssey, which premiered on ABC and Hulu in 2024. In addition to acting, Johnson has been involved in powerboat racing, becoming a World Champion in the Offshore World Cup in 1988.
