Invasion and royal usurpation

The kingdom is invaded by Ajak's armies during a brutal siege. King Annurius orders his infant son Ursus to be smuggled to safety, placing a royal medallion on the baby's neck. The king is killed and Ajak seizes the throne as Ursus is spirited away.

Ursus escapes to safety

The infant Ursus is carried beyond the city walls to safety with the medallion around his neck. Loyal subjects hide him as the capital falls to Ajak. The child is presumed lost to the world while the usurper consolidates power.

Raised by a pride of lions

Years later, Ursus is abandoned in a hidden valley and adopted by a lion pride who mistake him for a cub. He grows into a capable hunter and learns to navigate life among predators. He also receives occasional human lessons from passing merchants who educate him in worldly ways.

Ania enters Ursus's valley

A caravan of slave girls breaks down near Ursus's cave, and after Ursus helps repair their wagon, he accepts Ania as payment. He is touched by her courage and the stories she tells of the wider world. A wary bond forms as their worlds begin to touch.

A bond between wilderness and humanity

Ursus and Ania's relationship deepens, but Ursus announces he will remain in the wilderness rather than join human kingdoms. He explains his loyalty to the lions and learns to balance that life with the human connection he has found. Ania accepts a place among the lions, and their romance grows.

Ajak acts against Ursus

Hearing that Ursus survived, the evil king Ajak fears a potential threat to his throne. He orders his soldiers to march to the valley to capture Ursus and force his surrender. The confrontation between Ursus’s wild upbringing and Ajak’s rule drives the looming clash.

Lions fall and Ania is taken

Ajak's men kill most of Ursus's lion pride with poisoned meat and seize Ania as a hostage. Ursus refuses to surrender, and Simba, the last surviving lion, follows Ursus toward the city, ready to help if the moment arises. The human threat now directly targets Ursus and Ania.

Simba follows and waits for a chance

Simba travels with Ursus, remaining chained to him yet hoping for a chance to aid him. They push toward Ajak's city, staying close in case Ania's fate can be helped. The unlikely alliance between man and lion grows as danger closes in.

Escape, duel, and Lothar's fall

Ursus breaks free from the dungeon and, in a brutal confrontation, defeats Lothar by throwing him into a kennel of hyenas. The act marks Ursus's decisive break with Ajak's tyranny. He now heads toward the arena to confront the tyrant face to face.

The arena confrontation and rescue

In the grand arena, Ursus physically holds back a rampaging herd of elephants to save the condemned townspeople from a fiery fate. The crowd, witnessing his courage, recognizes him as their rightful ruler. Ania watches as Ursus fights to restore order and safety.

Ajak's death and vengeance fulfilled

Ajak tries to slip away from the arena, but Simba strikes and mauls him to death, ending the tyrant's reign. The death of Ajak frees Ursus from his usurper's shadow and paves the way for rightful rule. The lions' long-awaited revenge is finally realized.
