The attempt doesn’t go as expected: the project erupts in a puff of pink smoke, scattering sparks of color through the air. From the aftermath emerges Hapihapitchi, a small, fluffy creature who can absorb happiness from one person and pass it along to others. The crowd celebrates the discovery as Hapihapitchi begins to spread cheer across Tamagotchi Town, a bright force that seems to solve every problem with a simple, sunny fix.

With Hapihapitchi’s powers now a town-wide phenomenon, the group spots an advertisement for Celebria and makes plans to travel there together later. The mood shifts when Kikitchi, left behind at home, sits in an empty room, eating a meal alone while watching a TV interview with his parents—Monsieur KikiPapa and Madame Kiki—the very creators of Celebria. Their presence is a reminder of a larger dream, but also of distance that one small boy feels between his own life and the adventures his classmates seem to be having.

As Hapihapitchi’s fame grows, Mametchi and his friends find themselves celebrated for bringing happiness to everyone in Tamagotchi Town. He runs away instead, and the chase that follows tests their bond: Hapihapitchi’s powers are used to coax him into happiness, but he resists being forced to feel something he doesn’t want to feel. The ship returns to Tamagotchi School, and Mametchi and Kikitchi step into a book called The World’s Happiest Story, a tale about a man named Happy Daisuke Sakaguchi who chases happiness by chasing wealth. They try to help the character in the story, but Happy bolts away. Kikitchi secretly brings the book home and opens it, only to find that the last page is missing. The book becomes unstable, and Celebria is drawn into a swirling paper tornado that turns people into two-dimensional paper figures. In response, Mametchi and his friends haul the Magical Flying Library Ship into the tornado, racing through the storm to craft new endings for Happy’s story. They discover a powerful truth: happiness is not a solitary victory but something earned through connection with others.

As the tale unfolds, Hapihapitchi uses her gift to give Happy all the happiness in Tamagotchi Town, coaxing memories of his dog Lucky to the surface. The crew’s creative endings guide the story toward a hopeful resolution: Happy and Lucky are reunited, the paper tornado dissolves, and Tamagotchi Town slowly returns to its ordinary, vibrant life.
