Dasu, Ravi Teja, is the son of a counterfeit racketeer, Kota Srinivasa Rao. When his father goes to jail, Dasu becomes an orphan. He drops out after the 10th grade and drifts through life as a vagabond. Meanwhile, a ruthless smuggling operation runs drugs and arms into the country. An honest police officer, Prakash Raj, hatches a plan and recruits an informer, Venu, Raja Ravindra, into their underworld. Venu stays with the gang for a while, passes on information to the police, and helps them bust the smugglers’ team—though not the kingpin himself.
To outwit the criminals, the don’s henchmen enlist a plan from the kingpin’s right-hand lawyer, Biju Menon, and the don himself is portrayed by Lal. The trick is simple in theory: admit one of their henchmen into the police to get information from the reverse side. But this infiltrator must not be in police records and must be crooked and cunning. The smugglers’ hunt narrows to Dasu, who is threatened and forced to play puppet in their hands. To push him into the police department, they decide he should complete the tenth class. They enroll him in a school, where he meets Nakshatra, Ileana D’Cruz, a teacher who is initially unimpressed by his appearance and lack of education.
Encouraged by the don’s strategist, the idea takes root: Dasu should study hard and become a police officer to win Nakshatra’s affection. He embraces the plan, becomes a diligent student, and passes the exam, earning a post as a constable in the traffic wing. The smugglers’ unit then engineers another scheme to push him into the crime police, testing his loyalty under pressure. As Dasu’s sincerity begins to show, Nakshatra starts to rekindle her feelings for him. However, tragedy strikes when Venu, Nakshatra’s brother, is killed by Dasu at the behest of the don, and Nakshatra blames him.
Grieving and conflicted, Dasu grows disillusioned with a job he took partly to win a girl’s heart. He eventually turns against the don and defeats him in a final confrontation, killing the Smuggler Don, Lal. Nakshatra learns from the lawyer that her brother died at the hands of the don, and she reconciles with Dasu. The film ends on a hopeful note as the couple finds happiness together.

In a restless city where shadows linger over bustling streets, the ordinary rhythm of daily life is constantly nudged by unseen forces that shape destinies. The world feels both gritty and hopeful, a place where ambition clashes with legacy and the line between right and wrong is often blurred by circumstance. Within this environment, an undercurrent of ambition drives the narrative, hinting at larger battles waiting beyond the horizon.
Dasu is introduced as a street‑wise youth, a petty thief whose world is upended when his father—once involved in illicit trade—ends up behind bars, leaving him an orphan overnight. Stripped of a stable home and forced to survive on the margins, he carries the weight of a reputation he never asked for. Yet beneath his rough exterior lies a restless drive to carve a different path, a yearning to step away from the chaos that has defined his early years.
A chance twist propels him toward an unlikely rescue: a powerful figure in the city’s underworld sees a strategic advantage in planting a mole inside the police force, and Dasu becomes the target of that plan. To make the scheme work, he must first conquer an academic hurdle—passing the SSC exam—a challenge that thrusts him back into a classroom where he meets Nakshatra, an earnest teacher whose initial skepticism masks a growing curiosity about his determination. Their interactions crackle with tension and a budding respect, offering a glimpse of personal stakes that extend beyond the looming criminal chessboard.
With the exam cleared, Dasu steps into the uniform as a traffic constable, his role a modest foothold in a sprawling law‑enforcement machine. The atmosphere pulses with the kinetic energy of city traffic, the clang of horns, and the quiet resolve of a man learning the weight of authority. As he navigates this new world, hints of bravery begin to surface, setting the stage for a gradual ascent toward more demanding responsibilities. The film balances high‑octane action with moments of introspection, inviting the audience to wonder how a once‑wayward youth will reconcile his past with the promise of a purposeful future.
