A few days later, a wary Diane digs through CW’s belongings and uncovers fake passports and links to previous murders, including Charlotte. CW tries to talk her way out, but Diane calls her a psychopath. Enraged, CW strangles Diane to death, then regrets the act and escapes to Bali, using Diane’s voice as a personal A.I. assistant to cope with her grief.

Meanwhile, Madison, the survivor from the first movie, has kept a low profile while enduring constant cyberbullying as the prime suspect in the murders of her boyfriend and several other women killed by CW, who remains unfound. Despite being cleared of charges, she travels to France after learning about the mysterious murder of an influencer (Charlotte) and spots CW and Diane in Charlotte’s Instagram photos, later discovering CW’s Bali trip from Diane’s mother.

In Bali, Madison and CW cross paths with Jacob, a masculinist influencer, and his girlfriend Ariana, a conservative influencer who turns out to be the woman from the intro. The pair use Jacob to hunt or foil the other, each claiming the other is the true murderer.
