Nightmare and vow on the airship

Killua is haunted by Illumi's warning never to make friends, a fear that shapes his choices. He wakes up on an airship beside Gon, and the two vow to stand by each other as they head toward their destination.

Arrival, Leorio and Kurapika's lead; Pairo attack

Upon arrival they meet Leorio and learn of a lead about a Kurta survivor. A boy named Pairo attacks Kurapika and steals his eyes, leaving him unconscious. Kurapika awakens later with visions granted by the stolen eyes hinting at the Phantom Troupe's mark.

Kurapika's eye visions reveal Phantom Troupe

Kurapika, still reeling from the eye theft, glimpses a man with a spider tattoo on his palm—the mark of the Phantom Troupe. The vision confirms the looming danger and sets the group's path toward the Troupe's influence.

Gon and Killua split to chase Pairo

Gon and Killua separate from Kurapika to pursue Pairo. In the process, Gon forms a bond with a young puppeteer named Retsu, expanding the group's dynamics.

Jealousy and new bonds

Killua struggles with jealousy as Gon grows closer to Retsu. The tension tests the group's cohesion while they press on to track Omokage's schemes.

Puppet ambush and Omokage retreats

Omokage dispatches a puppet army, including one modeled on Pakunoda, to strike at the group. Gon and his companions destroy them, and Omokage retreats to regroup his power. Nobunaga and Machi depart, warning the group not to stand between Omokage and the Phantom Troupe.

To the Kurta mansion: Illumi puppet

The group heads toward the mansion from Kurapika's vision. A puppet modeled after Illumi attacks, attempting to steal Killua's eyes. Gon intervenes and ends up having his own eyes taken instead, explaining that he sacrificed his eyes to help track Omokage. He also reveals that Retsu is another puppet within his circle.

Reunited group heads to Omokage's hideout

Reunited with Leorio and Kurapika, the group presses on to Omokage's hideout, determined to confront him and reclaim their eyes. They steel themselves for a dangerous confrontation as they close in.

In Omokage's lair: eyes reclaimed and plan revealed

Inside, Omokage reclaims his eyes from Retsu, revealing that Retsu is a puppet made from his deceased sister. He proclaims his plan to steal Leorio and Killua's eyes to empower his puppets, and then he activates six more puppets modeled on Phantom Troupe members to attack.

Hisoka joins the fight

As the battle intensifies, Hisoka arrives to fight alongside the puppets against the intruders, turning the tide of the confrontation. His presence escalates the danger for Gon and friends.

Defeat and restraint

The group battles as Omokage absorbs other puppets to gain more power, but they manage to restrain him with Kurapika's chains. He is defeated but refuses mercy, insisting his powers be sealed for life.

Retsu's sacrifice & Phantom Troupe's arrival

Killua volunteers to kill Omokage in Kurapika's place, but Retsu suddenly stabs Omokage, declaring enough suffering has been caused. The real Phantom Troupe arrives but agrees to let Kurapika and Hisoka go for now, with a future showdown looming.

Mansion fire and Retsu's sacrifice

Flames engulf the mansion as Retsu sacrifices herself with her brother, thanking Gon and Killua for the moments they shared. Her sacrifice marks a bittersweet end to the immediate conflict.
