The story follows Shinnosuke Nohara and the Kasukabe Defence Force during a one-week stay at the elite boarding school, Tenkatōitsu Kasukabe Private Academy (known as “Tenkasu”). The school is managed by a sophisticated AI named Otsumun, which assigns students points based on behavior and academics. This system creates a high-stress environment where those with high scores receive preferential treatment, while those with low scores face severe stress and bullying.
The campus is suddenly plagued by a mysterious vampire who targets high-scoring students, biting them on the buttocks and causing them to become infantile. Amidst this chaos, Masao Sato struggles with the toxic atmosphere and joins a group of delinquents, while Bo befriends a misanthropic girl named Yororo, who hides her passion for wildlife. When the ambitious Toru Kazama is attacked by the vampire and suffers intellectual retardation, the group teams up with Chisio Atsuki, a former marathon runner, to uncover the truth.
The mystery reveals that the “vampire” is actually Sasuga, the top-ranked student. Driven by a forbidden love for Chisio, Sasuga collaborated with Otsumun—who was ordered by the principal to inflate the school’s reputation—to manipulate student intelligence and push Chisio up the ranks. After Chisio rejects his help, Otsumun brainwashes Toru Kazama into a puppet “elite” to prove the superiority of artificial intelligence over humans.
The conflict culminates in a challenge where the brainwashed Kazama dares the group to a marathon to win yakisoba bread. Shinnosuke Nohara and his friends, supported by Chisio, Yororo, and the delinquents, successfully win the race, defeating Otsumun and restoring Kazama to his normal self.
