Nuclear accident and cover-up at Tromaville High

An accident at the nearby nuclear plant occurs and is quickly buried by plant owner Mr. Paley to prevent the facility from being shut down. The radioactive water leaks into the town's systems and reaches Tromaville High's drinking fountain. Dewey, a student, is gruesomely killed by the tainted water. The incident sets off mutations and fear at the school.

The Cretins' mutation and plant-leaf racket

Shortly after the accident, the Cretins’ behavior grows brutal as the plant runoff mutates them into violent psychopaths. They harvest leaves from the radioactive marijuana plant in the plant yard and sell them to Eddie for $10. The mutated gang casts a looming shadow over Tromaville High as fear spreads.

Indoor beach party and the fateful joint

At Eddie’s indoor bikini beach party that night, he pressures Warren and Chrissy into smoking the radioactive joint. The joint is dropped and trampled before anyone else can try it. The mutation induces powerful aphrodisiac effects, and Warren and Chrissy have sex before the effects fade and disturbing nightmares begin.

Chrissy discovers she is pregnant

A short time later, Chrissy discovers she is pregnant and spits out a small creature into a nearby toilet. The event marks the start of a dangerous chain reaction in the plant's waste system.

Creature mutates in radioactive waste

The creature travels through the building's pipes to a barrel filled with radioactive waste and mutates into a larger creature. The mutation foreshadows the deadly threat that will confront the school and the plant's workers.

Plant lockdown and the basement probe

With the outbreak underway, the plant orders a lockdown and launches an investigation into Dewey’s death. A nuclear plant worker carefully checks the basement, finding no obvious spill but noting a foul odor. After dismissing a sound he had heard before, he looks again and the monster's arm reaches out, claws his face, and kills him.

Warren's rampage

Overwhelmed by the Cretins' harassment, Warren goes on a radiation-fueled rampage within the school, killing two of the gang. He has no memory of the killings when he later regains consciousness.

Cretins seize the school

The Cretins stage a violent assault inside Tromaville High, overpowering the principal and forcing him to trigger the school’s Radiation Alarm to evacuate. They close the doors, barricade the building, and occupy it, during which they shoot and kill the principal's secretary who opened the door.

Chrissy as bait and hostage

They capture Chrissy as bait for Warren and hold her hostage in the basement, planning to kill her in front of him. Their plan is halted when the adult monster arrives.

Warren confronts the monster and rescues Chrissy

Warren sneaks into the school to rescue Chrissy and encounters the adult monster. The creature kills the Cretins, and Warren then uses a laser from the physics laboratory to kill the monster, allowing them to flee the building.

Paley and the exploding school

Mr. Paley arrives in the room just as the final creature is killed and the school explodes, taking him with it. The surviving students celebrate as the loudspeakers announce that Tromaville High will be shut down for remodeling.
