In his youth, Bruce travels to the secret monastery of Nanda Parbat in the Hindu Kush to train as a crime-fighter. He bonds with O-Sensei and six fellow students who will become his allies. The training emphasizes discipline, martial skill, and the towering expectations of the monastery.

O-Sensei introduces six students

O-Sensei oversees the rigorous training of Shiva, Richard Dragon, Jade, Ben Turner, Rip Jagger, and Bruce. He tests their skills and builds a team identity among diverse fighters. The atmosphere blends reverence with looming danger.

Soul Breaker entrusted to Shiva

O-Sensei entrusts Shiva with Soul Breaker, a legendary Muramasa blade, signaling him as the most trusted student. The others sense a secret power guarding a mysterious outer-perimeter door. The group prepares for what could lie beyond.

Rip Jagger breaches the forbidden door

One night, Rip Jagger breaches the forbidden door and uses Soul Breaker to kill Jade. The act reveals that Soul Breaker is the key to Nāga's home dimension. The monastery is shaken as the true stakes become clear.

Nāga's realm intrusion and O-Sensei's sacrifice

The gate opens to Nāga's realm and four of Nāga's demonic servants emerge, quickly devouring Rip. The surviving students fight the demons, but the chamber begins to collapse. O-Sensei sacrifices himself by entering Nāga's realm to seal the gate, and the others watch as the chamber falls apart around them.

Years later, Burr acquires the gate

Years pass and Richard discovers that Jeffrey Burr, the leader of the Kobra cult, has gained possession of the gate. He travels to Gotham City to ask Bruce for help with the dangerous artifact. The reunion between Richard and Bruce sets the stage for a new mission.

Axe Gang attack; Bruce's Batman reveal

During a confrontation with Burr's mercenary Axe Gang, Richard learns that Bruce is Batman. Schlangenfaust, Burr's chief killer, is actively hunting Soul Breaker. The capture of the sword becomes central to the cult's power.

Chinatown meeting and theft of Soul Breaker

They retreat to Gotham's Chinatown to inform Shiva, who has become a crime lord, but the cultists attack. In the chaos, Schlangenfaust steals Soul Breaker, escalating the threat. The team realizes they must act quickly to recover the blade.

Ben Turner joins; plan to stop Burr on a fortified island

The group recruits Ben Turner, a martial arts teacher, who reveals his past chase of Kobra and the prophecy that Burr will become Nāga's earthly avatar. They track Burr to a fortified island where kidnapped children are to be sacrificed to Soul Breaker. The clock is ticking as they plan a rescue and a takedown.

Infiltration of the island fortress and catacombs

Batman, Richard, Shiva, and Ben arrive by plane and descend into the island's catacombs. They fight through Kobra's defenses and confront Schlangenfaust, who fights as Nāga's servant. Richard and Shiva work to stop the sacrifices while the others press the assault.

Burr opens the gate; Nāga appears

They corner Burr at the gate and Burr uses Soul Breaker to open the doorway. Nāga emerges, possessing O-Sensei's body, and reveals that Richard is its destined host. Nāga tries to tempt Richard with promises of power before the decisive moment.

Richard resists and banishes Nāga

Richard resists Nāga's seduction, and with Batman's aid wields Soul Breaker to banish Nāga by stabbing O-Sensei. The possession ends and O-Sensei's body begins to recover its own will. The group steadies itself for what comes next.

O-Sensei dies; plan to seal the gate

Freed from Nāga's influence, O-Sensei dies in the arms of his students. To permanently seal the gate, Batman steps into Nāga's realm wielding Soul Breaker, with Richard, Shiva, and Ben following. The team accepts a grim but necessary mission to close the doorway.
