Tony Lo Bianco, born as Anthony LoBianco on October 19, 1936, was a well-renowned American actor notable for his achievements in theater, film, and television across numerous decades. An offspring of first-generation Italian American parents, he kickstarted his career in theater, gracing several Broadway productions in the 1960s. Tony then transitioned into the film scene in the succeeding decade, featuring prominently in The Honeymoon Killers, The French Connection, and The Seven-Ups. He was an Obie Award winner for his 1975 appearance in an Off-Broadway production of Yanks-3, Detroit-0, Top of the Seventh. This was followed by a Tony Award nomination for his role as Eddie in 1983's A View from the Bridge revival. On TV, he embellished series such as Police Story, Jesus of Nazareth, and Marco Polo with guest-star appearances. He notably played Fiorello H. LaGuardia in a 1984 stage production of Hizzoner! - a performance that earned a New York Emmy. Besides his acting pinnacles, Tony was a Golden Gloves boxer and created the Triangle Theatre, where he worked as the artistic director for six transformative years. His filmography extends over five decades, with endeavors in television and personal film projects. Tony continued to work on stage productions of Hizzoner! over the years, even purchasing the rights, and often polishing the script. His final performances of the play were staged in 2015.
