The film opens with a chilling pattern of gym and spa killings, a haunting spree that targets local fitness spots and leaves investigators chasing a mystery. At the crime scene, Mike Sullivan, Lt. Wyznowski, and Phil Yamata arrive to piece together what’s happening. Sully spots a mysterious man leaving the area and remains convinced he is not part of the police. The team discovers one sole survivor, a young woman who hid in her locker and is now heavily medicated in the hospital. Visiting her, Sully recognizes the same man from earlier as the one who questioned the survivor, a memory that only deepens the sense that the killer operates outside ordinary police work. A tense pursuit follows as Sully and Wyznowski give chase, and Sully finally manages to subdue the suspect with his taser.

Back at the station, the hunt intensifies. The suspect remains largely silent, and the investigators are left to consider that the mystery man could be more than a lone killer. When another brutal attack hits a strip club, the body count climbs and the chase resumes with renewed urgency. Sully’s curiosity leads him to infiltrate the hunter’s apartment, where he uncovers a trove of alien gadgets and sights unseen through ordinary eyes. Wearing specialized glasses, Sully sees hidden corners that hint at a larger, otherworldly technology at work. Before he can retreat, he slides back into the suspect’s car, now realizing the hunter has his own plan to take down the hunter himself. A high-stakes chase through the night culminates in an empty, invisible truck that makes the collision inevitable. Sully and the Warden struggle to survive as the hunter fights a desperate duel of wits. The hunter escapes after the vehicle crash, leaving Sully and the Warden to reassess their next move.

The mystery deepens when new weapons and a chilling revelation come to light. Sully collects some of the hunter’s gear, hoping for clues, while Yamata works on the severed arm recovered from the explosion. The arm suddenly attacks Yamata, attempting to choke him, and the hunter himself reappears, strangling the man before reattaching the arm. The guns recovered from the fight carry an extraordinary, almost sentient quality, their bullets capable of pursuing targets like heat-seeking missiles. Wyznowski, skeptical of every theory, takes a reckless turn and ends up firing the weapon—an act that leads to a tragic self-inflicted death. The hunter then storms the police station, plundering the arsenal as he goes, until the Warden again intervenes to save Sully, only for the hunter to seize a bazooka and slip away into the night.

In a stark confrontation later that night, Sully finds the Warden at a warehouse where a trap has been laid. The two characters debate the nature of their species, with the Warden revealing a chilling history: their kind killed the dinosaurs and wore their skins as jackets, leaving their own species nearly extinct. The hunter attacks once more, forcing Sully and the Warden to seek shelter inside the vast space. The Warden triggers an auto-destruct sequence for his ship hidden in the warehouse, but the hunter manages to shoot him before the countdown ends. Sully must survive a brutal cat-and-mouse game, eventually outsmarting the hunter by tricking him into stabbing a fuse box, which sends a dangerous current through the room and fatally disables the pursuer. With the hunter dead and the Warden dying from his wounds, Sully races to escape as the warehouse detonates in a fiery finale.

In the aftermath, a quiet, hopeful coda returns us to ordinary life. Sully buys a puppy and a mouse for his daughters, naming them after the fallen ally: Warden. Walking inside, Sully’s wife gazes up at the night sky, and the story closes on a note that hints at mysteries lingering among the stars, even as a family finds small comforts in the glow of a new pet and the warmth of home.
