Taichi Saotome (born Taichi Nishimura on 1991-09-24 in Dazaifu, Fukuoka, Japan) is a Japanese actor and singer renowned for his mastery of onnagata (female impersonation) roles as well as his striking bishōnen aesthetic. He is the son of the head of the theatre troupe Gekidan Sujaku, where he began performing in taishū engeki at a very young age, and by 1995 he had already entered professional acting, quickly gaining attention for his delicate yet powerful portrayals of young men and women in both stage and screen productions. Saotome’s breakthrough came with his role in the 2003 film Zatoichi, where he played a child disguised as a geisha, showcasing his uncanny ability to blend gendered performance with emotional depth. He continued to refine this skill in Takeshis' (2005) as a young female impersonator and dancer, earning critical praise for his fluid movement and nuanced expression.
