Stuart W. Cooper, born in 1942, is a remarkably skilled American filmmaker, actor, and writer. This impressive auteur made his identity known through his distinct and innovative roles in the international film industry. During the 1960s and 1970s, Cooper resided in the United Kingdom where he was known for his remarkable acting skills. One of his most notable film appearances includes a role in 'The Dirty Dozen' as Roscoe Lever in 1967. His other famed roles include one of Oliver Reed's film crew in 'I'll Never Forget What's'isname' (1967), and 'Subterfuge' (1968) featuring alongside Hollywood veterans Gene Barry and Joan Collins. Stuart Cooper again astonished critics and audiences alike when he directed the 1975 WWII collage docudrama 'Overlord'. Unfortunately, Overlord initially failed to obtain US theatrical distribution and was basically shown in limited screenings and on television. Yet, Cooper didn't let this deter his ambition. His 1974 film, 'Little Malcolm', secured a position at the 24th Berlin International Film Festival and ended up winning the Silver Bear. The consecutive year, Overlord, his previously underappreciated work, won the Silver Bear – Special Jury Prize at the 25th Berlin Festival, manifesting his artistry and dedication.
