Sherri Evonne Shepherd (born April 22, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actress, comedian, author, podcaster, television presenter and talk‑show host whose career spans over three decades. She first broke into television in 1995 as Victoria Carlson on the short‑lived sitcom Cleghorne! and quickly became a recognizable face on sitcoms such as The Jamie Foxx Show, Less Than Perfect and 30 Rock, where she played Angie Jordan. Her versatility led her to co‑host the daytime talk show The View from 2007 to 2014, earning a Daytime Emmy in 2009 and multiple nominations. In addition to acting, Shepherd published the self‑help book Permission Slips in 2009, competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2012, and hosted a variety of game shows including Best Ever Trivia Show and the GSN rendition of The Newlywed Game. Her recent work includes starring in the syndicated talk show Sherri, which debuted in September 2022, as well as recurring roles on The Sex Lives of College Girls and guest appearances on The Masked Singer as “Penguin”.

Beyond the screen, Shepherd is an outspoken advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through her partnership with YAI, and she has openly discussed her journey with type‑2 diabetes and her faith transition from Jehovah’s Witness to evangelical Christianity.
