Rebecca De Mornay (born Rebecca Jane Pearch on August 29, 1959) is a seasoned American actress renowned for her breakthrough film role in Risky Business in 1983. Her filmography includes notable roles in The Slugger's Wife (1985), Runaway Train (1985), The Trip to Bountiful (1985), Backdraft (1991), and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992). On television, Rebecca starred as Wendy Torrance in the miniseries adaptation of The Shining (1997), and as Dorothy Walker on Marvel's Jessica Jones (2015–19). Born in Santa Rosa, California, she is the daughter of Julie and Wally George, a disc jockey and television host. After her parents got divorced, Rebecca took her stepfather, Richard De Mornay's last name. She has lived in different parts of Europe due to her mother's relocation after her stepfather's death. Apart from acting, she discovered her songwriting talents at a young age, with her songs being sold to German rock & roll musicians. De Mornay made her film debut in Francis Ford Coppola's 1981 film One from the Heart and has been actively working in Hollywood till date.\n\n She is also recognized for other films such as The Three Musketeers, Never Talk to Strangers, Identity, Lords of Dogtown, Wedding Crashers and Mother's Day. She was once married to Bruce Wagner and later had a significant relationship with actor turned sportscaster Patrick O'Neal, with whom she has two daughters.
