Omari Latif Hardwick (born January 9, 1974) is a multi-faceted American artist who wears multiple hats – he is an actor, model, singer, songwriter, and rapper. He gained widespread fame for his leading role as James St. Patrick or 'Ghost' in Starz's hit series 'Power.' Additionally, his roles in 'Saved,' 'Dark Blue,' Spike Lee's 'Miracle at St. Anna,' 'Kick-Ass,' Tyler Perry's 'For Colored Girls,' and 'Being Mary Jane' on BET Network further established his reputation. Born in Savannah, Georgia, Hardwick grew up in Decatur and often wrote poetry while participating in several sports. His education at Marist School in Brookhaven, Georgia, involved playing baseball, basketball, and football. Hardwick later pursued his higher education at the University of Georgia on a football scholarship, minoring in theater.

Upon graduation, Hardwick tried his luck in football and hoped to join the San Diego Chargers. However, he eventually returned to acting when he failed to get selected in the NFL Draft. As an aspiring actor, Hardwick juggled odd jobs to afford acting lessons and even lived in his car. His initial job profile included being an extra in a music video for Floetry's 'Say Yes.' His career started gaining traction in 2004 when he landed a role in the TV movie 'Sucker Free City.' Since then, Hardwick has showcased his talent in numerous roles across the film industry.
