Nick Castle: Movies & Box Office

Nick Castle, born Nicholas Castle on September 21, 1947, is an American screenwriter, film director, and actor with a career spanning from 1970 to the present day. He is perhaps famed for his iconic role as Michael Myers in the legendary horror film Halloween (1978), a character he later reprised in a 2018 cameo. Besides his acting, Castle's screenwriting prowess shines in Escape from New York (1981), which he co-wrote alongside John Carpenter. After his debut in Halloween, Castle transitioned into directing. His notable directing works include The Last Starfighter (1984), The Boy Who Could Fly (1986), Dennis the Menace (1993), and Major Payne (1995). Additionally, he played a memorable part in Dark Star, where he acted as the beach ball alien and showcased his directing skills in Connors' War. His screenplay projects extend to the film Hook and he outright directed and wrote the film Tap. Castle wrote August Rush, a musical-drama that launched in 2007 with an ensemble cast including Freddie Highmore, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Robin Williams, and Keri Russell. Apart from his films, Nick Castle has appeared in the 2010 documentary Halloween: The Inside Story as himself, offering an introspective look into the Halloween saga. His contributions to the film industry have been recognized with a Saturn Award for Best Writing in The Boy Who Could Fly among other accolades.
